YUM-O.... guess whats for dinner tonight!!

We also welcomed our newest family member... meet Hunny.

Or Hunny Girl as the boys call her.

Home Sweet Home!!

There is nothing quite like stepping into the comfort of your home after a long trip away. If I could of melted into the walls for awhile I totally would of I felt such a sense of peace when I stepped over the threshold. Our trip was so relaxing...... we caught up with many of our friends and family members and had the most wonderful time.

Being the most efficient mama in the world I completely forgot to take the camera to the important places - like when we visited the most awesome aquarium ever!! Despite this I did manage to snap a few pix here and there .....

Ohhhhh how we love a Vegemite baby......

Exploring new playgrounds..... and learning to crawl......

Watching in silence the devastation and regeneration of our beautiful state of Victoria.

When I packed to go away I dutifully printed knitting patterns and packed yarn and needles only to knit not one stitch. I guess it was a true holiday after all!!

Before leaving I managed to whip up this hat for one of my cutey pie nieces!! Lucky for me Mr 2 still thinks pink rocks enough to model it for me!!

Details for this cute free pattern are on my rav page.

I Heart Babies....

Not only are babies fantastic for all there own snuggly reasons but also when there are babies due it means that it's time for the mama's to get together for some fun, food and presents. Ohhhhh how I love a baby shower.

(Baby's surname starts with a H so I whipped up a little softie.... I had a little accident - putting my finger through the flannellette when I was stuffing it so I added an 11th hour softie bandage)

Last week I helped out with a friends baby shower and we had an absolute blast!! Inspired by We Heart Books I whipped up a baby fortune teller. This was such fun and after a bit of trial and user error it was a big hit.

(A breastfeeding apron for the mama... soft flannellette on the undersidegood for wrapping sleeping babies in or wiping little faces if need be.)

We also played the ever popular "peg game" where each person gets a peg and if you get caught saying the key word (baby) then the person catching you can take your peg.... the person with the most pegs at the end of the night wins!! Such a great ice breaker.

There was also baby charades with things like discovering leaking breasts in public, the post Ceasar shuffle, mastitis, burping baby, cuddling baby, feeding baby getting peed on at nappy change......

(the soon to be mama of 2 loves camo print so I whipped up a couple of spew rags to suit.)

Other faves were draw a baby on your head (place a piece of paper on top of your head and draw a baby - the expectant mama judges the winner), name that baby food, whats in the diaper (done with a variety of melted chocs in diapers). So much fun!!

I would love to hear your fave baby shower games, treats and tips.

Warming

This winter I have developed a slight fetish for neck warmers..... scarves, cowls you name it..... I just cant get enough of there woolly goodness.

My latest faves include.....

A Wham Bam that I just had to have after seeing this version....

......and a chunky Nicholas made extra chunky by knitting two strands of 8 ply together.....

Isn't it typical that after all this winter knitting the weather warms back into the 20C +!! Oh well we have a forecast for 9C next week just perfect for neck warming!!

Is the weather crazy in your neck of the woods??
