My nephew's 4th birthday meant that it was time to still the knitting needles and blow the dust off the sewing machine.
It had been a little while since I had exercised my old janome.....
So I thought it best to start with a few warm up exercises......
I whipped up some "nakey bums" for my babe..... can you believe he is almost 6 months??
These are made from a sandwich of flannellette with a repurposed cloth nappy filling.
Perfect for little "nakey bums" to sit or lay on.
After a quick needle change it was on to the birthday surprise.....
A cowboy library bag for my fave little cowboy.
Lined with a $1 shopping bag.
Add a some reading material a birthday card and we were off to celebrate "Happy Birthday Jordy!!" We hope you had a great day...we had a heap of fun at your party!!

Wow, love the 'nakey bums' idea. That's perfect to stop nice blankets getting smeared! lol. I think I might need to make some. Love the library bag too! Clever idea to line it with a bag already, that's working smarter, not harder :) lol
Glad to see that you managed to sew over the weekend - We went away (have to stop doing that - cuts into sewing time LOL!

Oh I need one of those nakey bum blankies, what is flannellette? Is it different than regular flannel? Such a great idea!
